- Cheap, durable stethoscope for general use Review by High build quality & comfort, acoustics lacking

Overall Rating This is a good general purpose stethoscope, but don't expect outstanding acoustics like some of the more expensive Littmann models. As an RN on a cardio-thoracic step-down unit, I'm feeling the need to upgrade, because this isn't the best piece for hearing heart sounds or subtle changes in breath sounds. I recently bought my wife the Master Cardiology, and there's no comparison in sound quality. With it, I can hear sounds I never knew existed! The Select, although priced for those on a budget, just doesn't deliver in acoustic quality. As far as build quality, durability, & lightweight comfort, I give it 5 stars! The tunable diaphragm is a very nice feature as well.
